2. ECA Monitoring Evaluation Learning and Innovation (MELI) Unit

   The Evaluation Division of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) is dedicated to enhancing the effectiveness of ECA’s educational and cultural programs, which work to build friendly, peaceful relations between the people of the United States and the people of other countries through academic, cultural, sports, and professional exchanges, as well as public-private partnerships.

4. Ongoing Evaluations

   Evaluation reports currently in-progress. The Division's evaluation projects are large-scale, 18-to-24 month studies designed to assess outcome achievement and long-term impacts, with respect to overall State Department, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and program goals.

5. International Sports Programming Initiative (ISPI)

   The SportsUnited: International Sports Programming Initiative (ISPI) is an annual open grant competition that allows public and private U.S. non-profit organizations to submit proposals for programs that connect American with foreign audiences to each other through a shared interest in issues.

6. Language Scholarships for High School Students NSLI-Y: 7-Weeks in Turkey

   

   Emily Morin, a 16 year-old from Washington, D.C. studied abroad for 7 weeks in Turkey with the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) program.
