IVLP: Parks, Biodiversity, and Ecotourism Management

Each year, the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) brings over 4,000 foreign visitors from all over the world to the United States to meet and confer with their professional counterparts and to experience the U.S. In 2009, 21 visitors were selected to travel to the United States to participate in a project called "Parks, Biodiversity and Ecotourism Management." During their 3-week stay, participants visited Washington, D.C., and Denver, Colorado. Participants split into smaller groups to visit Santa Fe, New Mexico; Rapid City, South Dakota; and El Paso, Texas. Ecological solutions are not the responsibility of one country because we all breathe the same air. We have to think in terms of whole-world strategies.
