Have Courage! Be a Leader

Mifdal Bouchaib: I am here for training program called TEA, Teaching Excellence and Achievement. So, the program targets English teachers from all over the world. We went to high schools, twice a week, for about 5 weeks. We observed American teacher in the classroom. We have close contacts with students. American schools have impressed me a lot. You can’t imagine big different from our high schools then your schools. The whole administration, the whole teaching staff, is putting the students in the center of the operation. In Morocco, it’s not. We are trying to do this, but we need the resources and we need the courage. Maybe, after a while, when I come back to Morocco, I think I have some contributions, but I have some plans in my mind. So, it means the idea to be a leader is what’s in my mind. So, now I have the courage to play a role in my school. Being here, with different teacher, listening to well-qualified teachers, have long experience in leadership. So, it means that it give us some hope that we can be a leader. It’s just a matter of using what the knowledge we have.
