1. VPDO Review for U.S. Scholars to India

   

   This recording provides a review of information that was covered during the Virtual Pre-Departure Orientation (VPDO) for U.S. Scholars to India that took place on Wednesday, June 15.

2. Funding and Administration

   The primary source of funding for the Fulbright Program is an annual appropriation by the U.S. Congress to the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA).

3. Office of Citizen Exchanges

   The Office of Citizen Exchanges gives American and foreign participants the opportunity to gain knowledge and share their expertise and experience through professional, youth, cultural, and sports exchange programs.

4. Grants Division

   The mission of the Grants Division (ECA-IIP/EX/G) is to effectively plan, direct, and execute by grant or cooperative agreement, or other appropriate means, assistance instruments for the Department's educational and cultural exchange programs.

5. Fulbright NEXUS

   The Fulbright Regional Network for Applied Research (NEXUS) Program is a network of junior scholars, professionals and mid-career applied researchers from the United States and other Western Hemisphere nations.

6. International Fulbright Science & Technology Award

   The International Fulbright Science and Technology Award, a component of the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, supports doctoral study at leading U.S. institutions in science, technology, engineering or related fields for outstanding foreign students.

7. Fulbright-mtvU Fellowship

   A component of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, the Fulbright-mtvU Fellowship is a special opportunity for up to four U.S. students to pursue projects around an aspect of international contemporary or popular music as a cultural force for expression.

8. History and Mission of ECA

   As part of America’s larger story of respect for-- and interest in-- all cultures and faiths, ECA’s range of programs exist to encourage mutual understanding as well as international, educational and cultural exchange, and leadership development.

9. Higher Education Administrators

   Higher education administrators have long realized the value of the Fulbright Program, both in shaping the lives and careers of students and faculty, and in helping to internationlize their respective campuses.

10. Office of International Visitors

    Launched in 1940, the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) seeks to build mutual understanding between the U.S. and other nations through short-term visits to the U.S. for current and emerging foreign leaders.
