You are listening to Stephanie Ortoleva, an Empower program participant from the United States. What does living without limits mean to you?

Stephanie Ortoleva:

Living without limits to me in my work, in my collaborations, means bringing together women and girls with disabilities for safe lives, for lives free of violence, for lives that provide us with an educational opportunity that we have on our own terms and in a way that is best for us.

Living without limits means that we are not bound by defined roles, by traditions, and by expectations that others impose on us that limit our lives, so that we can live without limits freely, independently, and as part of our communities.

Living without limits to me and my other sisters who are women with disabilities around the world means that we as women and girls with disabilities -- we are women too! And we want to collaborate with our sisters in the women’s movement so that all women, with or without disabilities, rich or without financial resources, indigenous women, rural women, all women can live indeed without limits in global sisterhood.
