Exciting things are happening at ECA.

After years of extensive research and planning, the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs is pleased to announce the launch of our redesigned ECA Bureau and Exchanges websites.

ECA restructured its online presence using industry best practices and user feedback to better provide the information people around the globe need to engage in citizen diplomacy.

Built with users in mind, each site now features a more modern, streamlined design that is easily accessible on cell phones, tablets, and monitors. The sites also feature: integrated social media tools; multimedia and digital story-telling; and infographics that illustrate the impact of international exchange.

Eca.state.gov—the face of our bureau-- explains the bureau as an institution and offers information on the impact of ECA programs, resources for the press, and information for grantees.

Artists, educators, athletes, students, youth, rising leaders in the United States and more than 160 countries around the globe participate in academic, cultural, sports, and professional exchanges.

Exchanges.state.gov highlights ECA’s exchange programs with participant stories, rich multimedia content, detailed program information, and information on travel to and living in the U.S. Potential exchange program participants can check out exchanges.state.gov to find a program that is right for them. Exchanges.state.gov features bold arrows built into the design that provide foreign and domestic audiences with clear pathways to ECA and its exchange programs.

These state of the art websites are essential tools in our work to buildbridges and promote mutual understanding around the world.
