You are listening to Denis Crean, a Sports Envoy participant from the United States. What does living without limits mean to you?

Denis Crean:

Living without limits means to me having the attitude, freedom, and opportunity to pursuit our lives and dreams without confines governments, society, and self. We should be exposed to life or sports opportunities that challenge us as people and athletes to grow. Willingness means possessing perseverance and saying, “Yes, I can” in the face of obstacles and doubts from others. The only limits we have are the ones we set ourselves.

The most memorable part of my trip to Cairo to train Special Olympics swimming coaches was sharing the passion we all had in our united purpose and the results of teaching intellectually disabled athletes to swim 25 meters or more who have never been in a pool before. I’ve shared my experiences verbally and through our website, with friends and family as well as those who participate in all our swimming programs -- disabled and non-disabled.
