Well, I'm Rehman Chishti Conservative member of parliament for
00:11
Gillingham and Rainham, a constituency in Kent in the Southeast of England I'm
00:15
here in the United States first in Washington and now in Arkansas with the wonderful
00:19
Congressman Hill as part of the British American Parliamentary Group (BAPG) which
00:23
looks at having parliamentary representatives from the United Kingdom
00:25
coming over here to the United States interacting on so many different levels.
00:32
I'm French Hill, I'm a second term Member of Congress and I represent Central Arkansas.
00:37
Well, Arkansas has about 3 million people
00:40
in it and we have a lot of international companies here including companies from
00:44
Great Britain and so this is a way to break down barriers and increase that
00:48
capital flow and commerce flow between our countries because you know our two
00:54
great countries have so much in common and our two great country comes together
00:57
in helping address many of the challenges around the world whether it's
01:00
foreign policy, whether it's security, whether it's addressing issues back at home in terms
01:04
of creating jobs and this program has given me an eyesight into addressing
01:10
some of those issues which I may not have had before. So collaboration at the
01:14
local business and chamber level and civil society is a real benefit I think
01:19
of parliamentarians going into each other's constituencies.
