1. Cultural Property Advisory Committee Meeting October 29 – 30

   The Cultural Property Advisory Committee will meet October 29 – 30, 2019, to review new requests for cultural property agreements from Morocco and Yemen.

2. For the Fifth Year Running, International Exchange Visitors Will Be the TCS New York City Marathon's Largest and Most Diverse Volunteer Contingent

   On November 3, more than 1,600 participants who are in the United States on the Exchange Visitor Program – students, interns, au pairs, and research scholars – will volunteer at the TCS New York City Marathon, the world’s largest marathon.

   Our Arts Envoys worked with advanced fashion design students in the Dominican Republic to create sustainable fashion designs for the Dominican Fashion week.

4. Communities and Youth for Promoting Hip Hop, Empowerment, and Resiliency (CYPHER) Launches

   On September 16, 2019, ECA launched its first year-long, multi-office pilot program entitled Communities and Youth for Promoting Hip Hop, Empowerment, and Resiliency (CYPHER), led by ECA’s innovation team, the Collaboratory.

6. IVLP Gold Star Lebang Nong Returns to U.S. to Continue Addressing How “Without Education, There is No Future”

   Each year, approximately 5,000 current and emerging foreign leaders in a variety of fields travel to the United States on the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) to cultivate professional networks with their American counterparts.

7. 2019 TechWomen Take Over Silicon Valley

   This year, the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs sponsored one-hundred and six women leaders in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields from Africa, the Middle East, and South and Central Asia through the 2019 TechWomen exchange program.

8. 2019 Open Doors Report

   Today marks the start of International Education Week (IEW) 2019. This week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchanges worldwide.
