   In her current position as the Sports, Education, and Cultural Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Adriana Correa Velasquez is responsible for implementing a governmental program called the “Borders for Prosperity Plan.”

   Working with the U.S. Embassy in Rabat, the U.S. State Department dispatched two former U.S. Women’s National Team players and one former coach to Morocco for a sports envoy program.

   As Vice Chairperson for the Athletes Commission, Geraldine Bernardo assists athletes in the Philippines in managing their lives after retirement through guidance and education.

8. Sports Grant Provides Disability Skills Training to Coaches in Mexico

   

   The National Ability Center, in collaboration with the Departamento de Educación Especial for the State of Quintana Roo, Mexico, and UCP Wheels for Humanity in the United States conducted a multi-phased sports exchange for youth with disabilities with the goal of establishing sustainable sports programs that target youth with physical and developmental disabilities in Mexico.

9. Philippines Program in Phoenix: Baseball Sports Visitors Experience Spring Training

   

   The U.S. State Department hosted six female and six male baseball and softball coaches from the Philippines for a Sports Visitor program.

10. Belizean Coaches Train to Foster Social Change through Sport

    

    As part of ECA’s International Sports Programming Initiative, Northern Illinois University conducted a two-way exchange between participants from the U.S. and Belize geared towards program administrator training, coach training, and consulting youth sports programs in Belize.
