2. U.S. and Egyptian Educators Benefit from Collaboration

   Ez Eldin Salem participated in the State Department’s Teachers of Critical Languages Program, which brings teachers from China and Egypt to teach Mandarin and Arabic in U.S. elementary and secondary schools for one academic year.

   Over the past 11 years, International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) participants from all around the world have walked through Anita Bevan’s front doors. Anita lives by a quote displayed in her Reno, Nevada home, “May all who enter as guests leave as friends.”

5. IVLP Gold Stars Connect on the 30th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act

   The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) is proud to champion inclusivity with its comprehensive programs. With alumni who are members of the disability community, the impact of their efforts goes beyond their time participating in their exchange programs.

6. American Arts Incubator in Turkey

   

   The American Arts Incubator has arrived in Turkey. The creative exchange program, that is organized in collaboration with InogarArt and the U.S. Consulate, which visits countries all over the world is underway here in Istanbul.

7. American Swimmers Travel to Russia

   

   The State Department had two concurrent bilateral sports exchange programs with Russia in the summer of 2012.

8. ECA celebrates the Americans with Disabilities Act 30th Anniversary!

   This year ECA launched the Access for All campaign!  The purpose of this campaign is to celebrate the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 30th anniversary.

9. Se-won’s MOOC & OER Journey

   Se-won Ahn of South Korea is one of many students around the world taking advantage of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) and Open Education Resources (OER). MOOCs and OERs allow students to take online classes and use resources created by reputable universities around the world for free.
