1. Fulbright in Cameroon

   The Fulbright Program offers grants to Cameroon for U.S. citizens. U.S. students and young professionals may apply for a grant to pursue independent research, while U.S. scholars may teach or research through Fulbright. U.S. students are also eligible to apply for the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Program. In addition, U.S. scholars are eligible to apply for the Fulbright Specialist Program.

   The National Security Council hosted a summit in December with 100 of the most influential travel bloggers and digital media outlets at The White House to highlight current U.S. Government initiatives and new strategies for encouraging American students to study, volunteer, and work abroad.

7. International visitors are the largest group of volunteers at the NYC Marathon

   

   For the third year in a row, J-1 Visa exchange participants were the largest and most diverse group of volunteers at the New York City Marathon. Watch how they embrace the American values of volunteerism and civic engagement, and share their culture with their American communities.

   The Office of Academic Programs oversees all academic programs sponsored by the Department of State, including the Fulbright Program for students, teachers, scholars and mid-career professionals in the Humphrey program, teacher exchange programs, English language programs, Study of the United States programs, and programs for undergraduate students.
