1. Chilean IVLP Alumna Reconnects with American Counterparts

   Five years after her International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) experience, Geraldine Mlynarz, a Chilean biotech CEO and entrepreneur, will share with her American counterparts the impact that her IVLP experience had on promoting women’s entrepreneurship in Chile and the region.

2. Cultural Heritage Center

   The Cultural Heritage Center works with governmental and non-governmental organizations to protect and preserve the world's cultural heritage. It administers the Cultural Property Protection program, the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation, the Iraq Cultural Heritage Initiative, and other special cultural heritage programs.

3. Office of Alumni Affairs

   The Office of Alumni Affairs strives to cultivate and extend the impacts of educational and cultural exchange programs through continued engagement with alumni of these programs.

4. Study in New Zealand on a Gilman International Scholarship

   

   The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program provides scholarships to U.S. undergraduates with financial need for study abroad, including students from diverse backgrounds and students going to non-traditional study abroad destinations.

5. New Program Empowers Youth and Underserved Groups to Preserve Cultural Heritage

   Six new cultural heritage projects have been selected by the U.S. Department of State and World Learning to receive funding as part of the inaugural Communities Connecting HeritageSM exchange program (CCH).

6. Arkansas Edition: British American Parliamentary Group (BAPG) Exchange Program

   

   U.S. Congressman French Hill, Representative to the 2nd District of Arkansas and U.K. Member of Parliament, Rehman Chishti participate in the British American Parliamentary Group (BAPG), an exchange program sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.

7. J-1 Participants Experience Volunteerism in U.S. Communities

   The State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs sponsors J Day, a nationwide event held every August that connects J-1 visa students and professionals with their local communities.

8. A Day In The Life of A Fellow - Indonesia

   

   This video depicts a "Day in the Life" of Fellow Sultan Stover, who is currently living and teaching in Indonesia.

9. American Music Abroad - Wordsmith on Tour and in Studio

   

   Baltimore-based rapper Wordsmith toured Africa in 2016 with the American Music Abroad program, part of American Voices, funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State.

10. 2017 Finalists of the YLAI Professional Fellows Program Announced

    This October, 250 business and social entrepreneurs from Latin America and the Caribbean will arrive in Atlanta, Georgia to kick-off their four-week Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Professional Fellows Program.
