1. ILEP Video: Visiting the United States and Enhancing Teaching Skills

   

   Why should you go to the United States to enhance your skills as a teacher? The International Leaders in Education Program brings outstanding secondary school teachers from the Near East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Western Hemisphere to the United States.

3. African Women's Entrepreneurship Program

   The African Women’s Entrepreneurship Program(AWEP) is a State Department initiative launched to identify and build networks of women entrepreneurs across Sub-Saharan Africa.

4. Standing Up for New Zealand’s Marginalized Communities

   As a participant in the 2011 Community Activism and Minority Rights International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), Reverend Uesifili Unasa of New Zealand was invited to stand on the exact spot at the Lincoln Memorial where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous 1963 ‘I Have a Dream’ speech.

5. The 2016 Our Ocean, One Future Leadership Conference

   The two-day conference focused on the principal issues facing our ocean, namely marine protected areas, sustainable fisheries, marine pollution, and climate-related impacts on the ocean.

6. U.S. Department of State Partners with International Council of Museums to Fight Illicit Traffic of West African Cultural Heritage

   In response to the conflict in Mali in 2012, and in order to fight the looting of West African cultural heritage, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) have published a Red List of West African Cultural Objects at Risk, including a Mali "Emergency" section funded by ECA’s Cultural Heritage Center.

7. Arkansas Edition: British American Parliamentary Group (BAPG) Exchange Program

   

   U.S. Congressman French Hill, Representative to the 2nd District of Arkansas and U.K. Member of Parliament, Rehman Chishti participate in the British American Parliamentary Group (BAPG), an exchange program sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.

9. State Department Emphasizes Importance of Keeping Exchange Participants Safe

   On February 26, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Jennifer Zimdahl Galt hosted a dialogue with ECA cooperative partners and sponsors that administer exchange programs to discuss how to continue to strengthen efforts to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of exchange participants.

10. Health Surveillance in the Arctic: IVLP Participants Convene in Minneapolis and Alaska

    An International Visitor Leadership Program group of nine researchers from member countries of the Arctic Council will meet in the United States over the next 10 days to address public health, medical research and Arctic science issues.
