1. June 2012 Quarterly Meeting

   

   The 255th meeting of the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FFSB) took place in New York City, New York, on June 11 and 12, 2012. This was the first time the Board met in New York, and the FSB extends a special thanks to Chairman Tom Healy for his instrumental work in preparing and hosting the meeting.

2. American University Students Conduct First Student Led Virtual Exchange, and Connect with Students Around the World

   Twenty undergraduate students at American University’s School of International Service designed and piloted their own virtual exchanges with students from Brazil, the Czech Republic, India, Japan, Kenya and Morocco.

3. IVLP Alumna Becomes Milan's First Muslim Councilwoman

   Years of advocacy for integration and women's rights establishes Sumaya Abdel Qader as a dynamic and diverse leader.

4. IVLP Supporting Students Who Challenge Extremism

   Every semester, “P2P: Challenging Extremism” competition finalists from around the world are invited on the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) to meet with American business and community leaders. This semester’s finalists, who arrived from Belgium, Italy, and Lebanon, traveled to New York City and San Francisco after presenting in Washington, D.C.

5. United States and Peru Extend Memorandum of Understanding, Over 2,000 Items Have Been Repatriated

   This week, the United States and Peru will extend their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to continue import restrictions on archaeological and certain Colonial period material from all areas of Peru.

6. Cultural Property Advisory Committee Meeting April 1-3

   The Cultural Property Advisory Committee will meet April 1-3, 2019, to review a new request for a cultural property agreement from Jordan.

7. Cultural Property Advisory Committee Meeting October 29 – 30

   The Cultural Property Advisory Committee will meet October 29 – 30, 2019, to review new requests for cultural property agreements from Morocco and Yemen.

8. Cultural Property Advisory Committee Meeting Jan 21 – 22, 2020

   The Cultural Property Advisory Committee will meet January 21-22, 2020, to review new requests for cultural property agreements from Tunisia and Turkey.

9. Cultural Property Advisory Committee Meeting Apr 15, 2020

   The Cultural Property Advisory Committee will meet April 15, 2020, to review a new request for a cultural property agreement from Costa Rica.

10. Cultural Property Advisory Committee Meeting July 26-27, 2022

    The Cultural Property Advisory Committee intends to meet July 26-27, 2022 (pending Federal Register announcement confirmation), to review the proposed extension of the cultural property agreement with the Government of Belize and the proposed extension of the cultural property agreement with the Government of the State of Libya. The Committee invites public comment on these proposals.
