1. Open Competition for the Stevens Virtual Exchange Initiative

   On October 1, 2015, The Aspen Institute’s J. Christopher Stevens Virtual Exchange Initiative opened the first in a series of competitions to fund virtual exchanges that equip young people in the United States, the Middle East, and North Africa with the skills and aptitudes they need to gain a deeper understanding of diverse cultures and to succeed in the 21st century.

   The EducationUSA Forum connects U.S. institutions with EducationUSA advising centers overseas to develop comprehensive and innovative strategies for recruiting, retaining, and engaging international students on U.S. campuses.

4. Hundreds of International Educators Attend the Annual EducationUSA Forum

   The annual EducationUSA Forum attracts representatives of accredited U.S. colleges and universities seeking to recruit and support international students and internationalize the American higher education sector.

5. State Department Announces Gilman Top Producing Institutions

   The U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce the inaugural list of U.S. higher education institutions that sent the most students overseas on the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program in academic year 2016-2017.

9. Using Comic Books to Engage Youth Around the World

   In 2019, ECA's Collaboratory partnered with the nonprofit organization, the Comic Book Project (CBP), to support two innovative comic diplomacy programs.

10. 5th Annual EducationUSA Forum Convenes U.S. Higher Education

    The fifth annual EducationUSA Forum will take place in Washington, D.C. June 23-25, bringing together more than 60 EducationUSA regional experts and 550 U.S. College and association representatives.
