2. TechGirls Program Expands to Central Asia

   The TechGirls exchange program launched in 2012 to encourage secondary school girls (ages 15-17) from the Middle East and North Africa to pursue careers in tech and higher education.

3. Stevens Initiative Announces New Grants to Support Virtual Exchange Programs Domestically and Abroad

   Today, the Stevens Initiative, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, announced six new grants to schools and organizations to implement virtual exchange programs for students at educational institutions ranging from middle school through the university level.

4. A Welcome Milestone for the NSLI-Y Program

   This summer, over 400 American high school students traveled overseas through the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) program.

   This September, 250 business and social entrepreneurs from Latin America and the Caribbean will arrive in Detroit, Michigan to start the five-week Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Professional Fellows Program.

8. Human Rights Clubs in Rwanda (Youth Leadership Program)

   

   Alumni of U.S. Department of State's Youth Leadership Program, started Peace Clubs for local high school students in Rwanda.

   The U.S. Department of State and espnW Global Sports Mentoring Program is the central program in the U.S. Department of State’s initiative to engage, inspire, and empower women and girls worldwide through sports.

10. ECA Launches the Arts Envoy IPR Program

    The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs launched the Arts Envoy Intellectual Property Rights Program in December to highlight the importance of protecting intellectual property rights (IPR) of visual and performing artists.
