   The quarterly meeting of the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB) was held in Washington, DC, on June 6 and 7, 2011.

   The Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FFSB) held its 277th quarterly board meeting on November 14 in Davis, California.

   The SXSW EDU Conference and Festival takes place each March in Austin, Texas.

4. Fulbright Arctic Initiative

   The Fulbright Arctic Initiative will create a network to stimulate international scientific collaboration on Arctic issues while increasing mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. Using a collaborative model to translate theory into practice, program participants will address public-policy research questions relevant to Arctic nations’ shared challenges.

5. Lebanese Fulbright Alumnus Honored by Temple University for Leadership in Interfaith Dialogue

   As a Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Farhed worked with Temple University's Dialogue Institute on the 2008 Fulbright Interfaith Community Action Program to bring together ten religious leaders, scholars, and community leaders from Saudi Arabia, India, Israel, Indonesia, Pakistan, France, Malaysia, Lebanon, England, and Burkina Faso.

6. Presidential Victory for Fulbright Alumna from Croatia

   An alumna of Fulbright, Ms. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic was recently elected as the first woman President of Croatia.

   The Fulbright Arctic Initiative (FAI), a component of the Fulbright Scholar Program, promotes international, multi-disciplinary collaboration on Arctic research.

9. Fulbright on the Millennial Trains Project: Lala, South Africa

   

   The Millennial Trains Project (MTP) leads crowd-funded transcontinental train journeys for diverse groups of young innovators to explore America's new frontiers.

   Lala, a participant from South Africa details her experience on the train studying obesity.

10. Fulbright: Engage the World!

    

    March, 2013, Secretary Kerry addressed a group of Fulbright students and encouraged them to use their Fulbright opportunity to make lifelong connections and to become full global citizens by engaging with the world around them.
