1. The U.S.-Taiwan Education Initiative Holds Third High-Level Dialogue, Promoting Cooperation on International Education

   Facilitated by the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO), the United States and Taiwan held a series of events this week to launch the U.S.-Taiwan Education Initiative.

5. Sports Visitors Program Hosts Futsal Athletes

   

   Sports Visitors Program hosted 15 male athletes and coaches from Libya for a futsal Sports Visitors exchange program. Futsal is a modified version of outdoor soccer played on a hard surfaced basketball-sized indoor court, with a smaller and heavier ball.

8. Empowering Women and Girls through Sports: When Final Four Is Only the Start

   

   On April 6, the first annual UN International Day of Sport for Development and Peace synced with the midpoint of the U.S. Department of State's 2014 NCAA Women’s Final Four Basketball Program, a flagship multi-nation sports visitor program, administered under the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’ Empowering Women and Girls through Sports Initiative.

9. Mobility International USA – Armenia

   

   Mobility International USA (MIUSA) collaborates with Armenians partners to conduct a two-way exchange program to expand opportunities for youth with disabilities to engage in sports.

10. Former NBA Players Promote Understanding in the Philippines

    U.S. Embassy Manila hosted two State Department Sports Envoys Allison Feaster, former player in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), and Derrick Alston, former player in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
