   [Manila, June 2022] When American Center Director Mylyn Garcia wakes up each day in Manila, her mission is clear: to connect Filipinos to American culture and create greater engagement with the United States through English training, educational exchange, and cultural programming. In 2020, the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines’ American Spaces opened a new frontier, promoting women’s empowerment with the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs – or AWE.

   The Future Leaders Exchange Program (FLEX) celebrated the end of its 21st year with approximately 168 students of this year’s 800 scholarship recipients.
