This episode the Assistant Secretary visits the famous Cherry Blossom trees as they bloom around Washington, D.C. In 1912, the trees were a gift from Japan to the United States. Today, they are a beautiful symbol of the friendship between the two countries. Every year, visitors come to Washington to view them at peak bloom.
