Our campaign is called FATE which stands for From Apathy To Empathy. And, basically the goal was to challenge the way there is a certain desensitization within the masses of Pakistan due to constant encounters to acts of violence and extremism. Basically, our everyday existence is centered around headlines featuring death tolls and causalities to the extent that there’s been indifference in the masses, especially the younger population.

We wanted to reach out to the silent majority who felt that extremism was wrong, but were not doing anything about it. For our social media campaign, we focused mostly on Facebook because that’s the most widely used in Pakistan. And, the success that we got from it was not expected.

We asked our friends to come up with this blank card campaign, where they would write their thoughts on terrorism. Where they would write what they thought about terrorism, so we could get a diverse view of what people had to talk about terrorism.  Since the pictures were getting applauded and people were getting tagged, everyone was getting to know that there was this campaign taking place.

We have, we’ve just lost so many lives to extremism, too much blood has already been shed. And if we can do something, mobilize people to stand against it, and stop them from turning towards in the first place. So, I feel like that itself would mean that we’ve achieved something greater in life and for a greater cause as well.
