The National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) is a U.S. Department of State program that allows hundreds of American high school students to spend a summer or school year abroad studying a foreign language, living with a host family, experiencing the local culture, and gaining skills to help them succeed in the global economy.
