1. ECA Launches the Arts Envoy IPR Program

   The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs launched the Arts Envoy Intellectual Property Rights Program in December to highlight the importance of protecting intellectual property rights (IPR) of visual and performing artists.

2. Murrow Program Gives International Journalists Close Look at American Media

   The Murrow Program gives emerging media professionals from around the world the opportunity to examine rights and responsibilities of the free press in a democracy.

3. The U.S.-Taiwan Education Initiative Holds Third High-Level Dialogue, Promoting Cooperation on International Education

   Facilitated by the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO), the United States and Taiwan held a series of events this week to launch the U.S.-Taiwan Education Initiative.

5. Sports Visitor Program Promotes Disability Rights

   State Department and U.S. Embassy Brasilia focused its Sports Visitor program on people with disabilities.

6. Generation Study Abroad Summit

   From October 1-2, 2015, the U.S. Department of State will participate in the inaugural Generation Study Abroad Summit, hosted by the Institute of International Education (IIE).

7. 2018-19 Fulbright Top Producing Institutions

   The lists of more than 170 U.S. higher education institutions that sent the most Fulbright U.S. Students and Scholars abroad in academic year 2018-2019 are now available and highlight the Fulbright Program’s strong institutional diversity and impact on American communities.

8. Open Competition for the Stevens Virtual Exchange Initiative

   On October 1, 2015, The Aspen Institute’s J. Christopher Stevens Virtual Exchange Initiative opened the first in a series of competitions to fund virtual exchanges that equip young people in the United States, the Middle East, and North Africa with the skills and aptitudes they need to gain a deeper understanding of diverse cultures and to succeed in the 21st century.

9. Using Comic Books to Engage Youth Around the World

   In 2019, ECA's Collaboratory partnered with the nonprofit organization, the Comic Book Project (CBP), to support two innovative comic diplomacy programs.
