   The Cultural Property Advisory Committee will meet October 27-29, 2020, to review the request by the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria seeking import restrictions on archaeological and ethnological material.

2. Cultural Property Advisory Committee Meeting - March 17 and 19, 2021

   Cultural Property Advisory Committee will meet March 17 and 19, 2021, to review the request by the Government of the Republic of Albania seeking import restrictions on archaeological and ethnological material.

3. Cultural Property Advisory Committee Meeting July 31-August 2

   The Cultural Property Advisory Committee will meet to review Algeria’s request for U.S. import restrictions on archaeological and ethnological material.

4. U.S. and Greece Work Together to Protect Cultural Heritage

   September 22, 2021. Athens, Greece: The United States and Greece signed a bilateral cultural property agreement extending existing import restrictions for Greek cultural property and expanding the terms of the agreement to include additional categories of ecclesiastical ethnological material.

5. United States and Libya Sign Agreement to Protect Libya’s Cultural Heritage

   On February 23, Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs I. Steven Goldstein and Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Under Secretary for Political Affairs Lutfi Almughrabi signed a landmark bilateral Memorandum of Understanding on cultural property protection at a ceremony at the U.S. Department of State’s Treaty Room.

6. United States and Albania Work Together to Protect Cultural Heritage

   Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Matthew Lussenhop and Albanian’s Minister of Culture Elva Margariti concluded a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding that protects Albanian cultural property on August 23, 2021.

7. United States Repatriates Cambodian Cultural Property at Ceremony in New York

   Assistant Secretary Satterfield traveled to New York to join the Cambodian Ambassador.

8. Virtual Workshop Trains Law Enforcement to Disrupt Trafficking of Central Asian Cultural Property

   The trafficking in stolen, looted, or forged art, antiquities, and other cultural objects benefits criminal organizations and terrorist groups, erodes the legal art market, and harms our relationships with foreign partners and allies.

9. Virtual Workshop Trains Law Enforcement to Disrupt Trafficking in Cultural Property from Latin America

   On July 15, 2022, the U.S. Department of State’s Cultural Antiquities Task Force (CATF) held a virtual training workshop for law enforcement officials from the United States to enhance their knowledge of cultural property from Latin America and to build capacity to disrupt its trafficking.

10. Trafficking in Cultural Property from Southeast Asia Topic of Latest Virtual Law Enforcement Workshop

    On June 15, 2023, the U.S. Department of State’s Cultural Antiquities Task Force (CATF) held a virtual training workshop for law enforcement officials from the United States to enhance their knowledge of cultural property from Southeast Asia and to build capacity to disrupt its trafficking.
