Stevens Initiative Announces New Grants to Support Virtual Exchange Programs Domestically and Abroad
Today, the Stevens Initiative, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, announced six new grants to schools and organizations to implement virtual exchange programs for students at educational institutions ranging from middle school through the university level.
The Stevens Initiative, conceived and developed in close partnership with Ambassador Stevens’ family, was inspired by the meaningful international exchange experiences that Ambassador Stevens had as a young man, which helped to shape the kind of diplomat he became.

Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Marie Royce met with students participating in the Stevens Initiative virtual exchange program at Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) in Middletown, Virginia on February 4.
On November 14, students from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and the U.S. participated in a global pitch competition at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business in Ann Arbor.
