Yuliati Umrah is an Indonesian activist whose work revolves around the rights of women and children. Umrah has spent her career working through her nonprofit Arek Lintang (ALIT) to advocate for child workers and against human trafficking in Indonesia and around the world.

Since participating in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), Umrah has focused on building ALIT, which helps promote fair pay to fabric makers and alleviate child labor and prevent child sexual abuse.

Umrah says that her IVLP helped her establish a network of people who can provide support and develop a new perspective on gender equality and children's rights. The IVLP gave her a deeper understanding of the issues she is tackling. Umrah said, "Indonesia and the United States seem very different at first, but they face many of the same issues, just at different stages."

Yuliati Umrah is a strong believer in gender equality and is working to end human trafficking, child labor, and the gaps that exist in gender rights.
