Description (no more than 300 words)

The International Cultural Festival at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is a weeklong event that highlights the cultural diversity the campus has. Located on the U.S. - Mexico border, UTEP has the largest Hispanic student population. However, its cultural diversity extends beyond the border and around the world. With 75 countries represented, UTEP is truly a diverse university.

The weeklong festival kicked off on Monday November 13th with the International Food Fair. 16 registered student organizations participated by cooking food representative to a country, selling it and prompting the country's culture. Booths were set up and decorated with mantles, posters, rugs, and many other items traditional to the country being represented. Students also dressed up in their traditional dress and gave a brief speech about the food and culture. Student organizations were judged on cultural information, theme/decoration, taste and hospitality with the opportunity to win a first, second, third and fan favorite prize.

On campus offices are participating in the Office Decorating Contest-International Themed. The winning office receives a catered breakfast and a highlight on campus social media. During the week, the campus and local population are invited to learn more by attending a lecture series, a film series and an international bazaar with live entertainment and a fashion show.
