Performance Measurement Initiative


Through its performance measurement initiative, the Division continually monitors the Bureau’s programs to track results. Baseline, end-of-program, and follow up data are collected from program participants and compared across these three points to assess effectiveness. Data are also compared annually by the three points to assess overarching trends. Both program officers and senior management incorporate this data into program planning and goal setting. 

The 2016 Performance Measurement Initiative Annual Report presents a summary of aggregated survey data across ECA programs in the PMI portfolio in 2015 and 2016. In doing so, the report presents a global view of the short-term outcomes delivered by State Department-sponsored exchange programs.
