In this public lecture professor Wick will provide a global overview of current trends in international education and international student mobility. From this broad perspective on the current state of internationalization of higher education, he will describe international education opportunities and challenges for institutions and organizations in Azerbaijan. He will focus on opportunities and tactics for creating or strengthening international partnerships. The public lecture will conclude with time for questions from attendees.
Professor David Wick worked at four U.S. universities to support student mobility programs for over 20 years. Now, as an Assistant Professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, he teaches graduate courses on international education management. His current coursework includes courses on program design, marketing and recruiting, diversity and inclusion, and student learning and development. Wick has given over 100 sessions and workshops at professional and academic conferences on topics ranging from internationalization strategy or partnership development to student advising or funding education abroad. He conducts and publishes research on a variety of international education topics including education abroad learning outcomes, student development, and program design.
