Description (no more than 300 words)

Join the Global Nebraska Coalition on Diversity and Inclusion (GNCDI), which represents the University of Nebraska Lincoln’s global support staff and units, to learn about diversity and inclusion around the world. Attendees will hear from two faculty members from Ecuador: Jackeline Gallegos and Ana María Morales. Gallegos, an afro-descendant activist, will discuss the public mass reaction in Ecuador to the murder of George Floyd and the BLM movement, and the discussion will be in Spanish and translated by Angelica Ordoñez. Morales will then discuss national movements and diversity and inclusion efforts for marginalized groups and indigenous populations within Ecuador.
