#GETINSPIRED: Why Language, Leadership, and Study Abroad Matter

USEF-Nepal's 'Get Inspired' programs feature students or alumni of U.S. colleges and universities who provide insight to prospective students. This program features Mr. Anup Mahajan, an alumnus of Georgetown University, in Washington, DC. He has studied Economics, Public Policy, Classics, and Linguistics. He currently works in the Public Affairs Section at the US Embassy in Kathmandu. With over 15 years of experience, he was previously Research Professor of International Education at The George Washington University and also taught at Johns Hopkins University. In the private and non-profit sectors, Anup headed global business development for Aon-Hewitt (a global HR strategy firm) and the Center for Applied Linguistics in Washington, DC – one of the world’s leading organizations for promoting equity and access in multicultural education worldwide. And most recently, he was the Director of Business Development for Outcome.Life, a high growth ed-tech startup company in Sydney that is changing the game for international students who aspire to live and work in Australia.

In this session, Anup will share why International Education matters. Drawing from his own personal and professional experiences, he will share why it’s important now – more than ever before – to develop ‘21st century skills’. Come and hear his insights, and get inspired!
