New Opportunity for Fulbright Alumni: Join the Fulbrighter Networking Platform

November 18, 2019

The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) is pleased to announce the global rollout of the Fulbrighter social networking platform and app. This new, free, and private platform allows Fulbright alumni around the world to connect, network, engage, and collaborate with the ease of one shared network. Launched in August 2019, the Fulbrighter app already has over 10,000 users. Current Fulbright participants may also register to join.

“We encourage all Fulbright alumni to join Fulbrighter, the new networking platform designed to connect Fulbright participants and alumni across the globe. Over 10,000 Fulbrighters from more than 130 countries have already signed up. You can post events, connect with collaborators on research, and find Fulbrighters in your communities,” said ECA Assistant Secretary Marie Royce. “Fulbrighter will allow Fulbright Students and Scholars from different countries, program years, and fields of study to stay connected and engage long after their Fulbright experience.”

Fulbrighters may access the platform at https://fulbrighternetwork.com or download it to a smartphone from the App Store and Google Play.

One of the lasting benefits of receiving a Fulbright award is joining the global network of passionate and accomplished alumni serving as leaders in academia, business, government, and other fields. The Fulbrighter app allows participants to establish groups and create pages tailored to their interests. Within the app, users can create and/or join multiple affinity groups based on their current location or the location of their Fulbright experience, shared interests, and field of specialization, among others. We hope that these affinity groups will allow users to expand their personal and professional Fulbright networks across world regions and lead to greater collaboration between Fulbrighters across the globe.

Led by the United States government in partnership with 160 countries worldwide, the Fulbright Program offers unparalleled international educational and cultural exchange experiences. The global network of Fulbright alumni fosters mutual understanding between the people of the United States and partner nations, advances knowledge across communities, and improves lives around the globe. The Program is supported in 49 countries by binational commissions, and by U.S. Embassies in another 100-plus countries. Annually, about 8,000 American and foreign citizens participate in Fulbright exchanges. Since its inception in 1946, the Program has sponsored approximately 390,000 exchange participants.
