Description (no more than 300 words)

The photography of Johnny Miller has gripped countless individuals around the world. Specializing in drone and aerial photography, Mr Miller's work explores poverty and inequality in clear and evocative fashion from high above. From golf courses next to shanty towns to super highways buzzing near housing projects, his drone has peered above cities on multiple continents, including several throughout South Africa and in Richmond, Virginia. At the brown-bag, Mr. Miller will share his experiences in uncovering these "unequal scenes" as well as how his photography has garnered such attention in in a short amount of time.

Part of UR's South Africa Week and celebration of International Education Week 2018.

The Bonner Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) hosts weekly Brown Bag discussions, open to members of the campus and the community, from 12:30–1:25p.m. on most Fridays during the academic year. Each week, a speaker or small panel leads a presentation on a provocative social issue, then opens up the floor for discussion. Free pizza will be provided.

Co-sponsored by International Education and The Bonner Center for Civic Engagement (CCE).
